Beltane Experience

Our Beltane celebrations this year will be a little different as we are meeting for an experiential workshop in the woods at 3pm

on April 30th, followed by a community picnic until 6pm, when we will be processing through the woods to to the ritual field to

begin our Beltane ceremony and revelries at

6pm-8.30pm. It will be beautiful, playful, and a lovely community event.

We will meet at 3pm at the Discovery Centre in Ecclesall woods, please bedeck yourself with flowers and festive regalia or wear something in Beltane colours in red or green and so that we can recognise one another, cut out a heart shape badge, stick a safety pin to the back of it and wear it on your coat. Someone will gather us all together and take us into the woods where the workshop activities will begin from 3-5pm.

Meet at 3pm
3-5pm workshop meeting the Spirits of the Trees
5-6pm community picnic
6pm Beltane ceremony with the Lord and Lady of the Wildwood

Please bring waterproofs in case of rain and wear strong shoes for walking
Something to sit on and a blanket for the evening if it gets chilly.
A picnic, a cup, torch or lantern, and if you have them, drums, rattles and bells

If you are planning only to come to the ritual, please come to the Discovery Centre for 5.45pm where someone will meet you to take you to the starting place for the procession and elemental blessings. Although we are not using the Temple for this ceremony it is important to book, so that we know who is coming.

The Sheffield Goddess Temple is a not for profit organisation. Everyone who works administratively, physically on up keep, as Priestesses or Priests, other teachers or facilitators does so on a completely voluntary basis.

We ask for donations towards our events to cover physical up keep, peripherals such as candles, flowers and other ritual supplies so no one person carries the cost and so we can have these lovely things to aid our practice.

We operate a booking system so we know how many people to expect and, if we are in the Temple so it does not go over capacity for Health and Safety reasons.

If for any reason you are struggling to meet the small donation please do contact us via Face Book or email and we can book a place.
